Figure skaters Mishina and Gallyamov became champions of Russia with record points

World champions Anastasia Mishina and Alexander Gallyamov won gold medals at the Russian Figure Skating Championships in pairs competition. In total, they scored 243.74 (83.74 + 160.00) points for the two programs.

The second place was taken by Alexandra Boykova and Dmitry Kozlovsky (239.87; 82.84 + 157.03), the third - Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov (228.20; 78.68 + 149.52).

Two couples scored above the world records in the free program (155.60) and in total (234.84). The records are held by the Chinese pair Sui Wenjing / Han Cong. In national competitions, official records will not count.

Mishina and Gallyamov won the pairs short program at the Russian Figure Skating Championships. At the Russian Championships, Mishina and Gallyamov did not rise higher than fourth place before.

Earlier in the men's competition, Mark Kondratyuk became the champion of Russia, and Alexandra Stepanova and Ivan Bukin won ice dancing.

Mishina and Gallyamov are world champions (2021), bronze medalists of the Grand Prix finals (2019) and world champions among juniors (2019). Now they are training under the guidance of Tamara Moskvina. Boikova and Kozlovsky, who are bronze medalists of the 2021 World Cup, European champions (2020), are also studying at Moskvina's.

Tarasova and Morozov are silver medalists of the 2018 Olympic Games in team competitions, three-time world championship winners, two-time European champions. In the spring of this year, they joined the Eteri Tutberidze group.

The competitive part of the Russian championship, which takes place in St. Petersburg, will end later on Saturday the free program for the singles. This tournament is very important from the point of view of selection for the Olympic Games in Beijing, where Russia has three quotas in each of the four types of program in figure skating competitions.

The next major international tournament, the European Championship, will take place in Tallinn from 12 to 16 January. The Olympic Games will be held in Beijing from 4 to 20 February.
