Previously, the tennis player's father said that Djokovic "is in captivity."

As it turned out, a member of Djokovic's team made a mistake when applying for a visa and chose the type of entry document, according to which they would not be allowed into the country who had a medical exemption from the coronavirus vaccination. Because of this, Djokovic was unable to go through passport control and was sent to a police-guarded room, where he awaits a decision by the country's authorities.

Djokovic flew to Australia to participate in the Australian Open, which starts on January 17.
