KHL canceled three matches of Riga Dynamo due to outbreak of coronavirus

Russia (bbabo.net), - The Kontinental Hockey League has canceled three regular season matches with Dynamo Riga. We are talking about the meetings with Dynamo Minsk, Metallurg Magnitogorsk and Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg, which were to take place on January 12, 15 and 17, respectively.

The reason for the force majeure is the outbreak of the coronavirus in the Riga club, where 14 players, one coach and two representatives have already passed positive tests. Earlier, the upcoming games of CSKA, Salavat Yulaev and Avtomobilist were canceled for the same reasons.

In addition, on the official website of the KHL yesterday there was a message that the league intends to consider the option of suspending the season. The final decision is planned to be made next week.

"The main goal of all options is to preserve the health of the participants, finish the championship, hold the playoffs and determine the winner," the KHL said in a statement.
