Russia (bbabo.net), - The crew of the Russian pilot Dmitry Sotnikov from the Kamaz-master team won the eighth stage of the Dakar rally-marathon on Monday.

The length of the special stage was 395 km. All three prizes in the truck standings were taken by representatives of the Russian Kamaz-master team. Sotnikov covered the distance in 3 hours 56 minutes 42 seconds. Andrey Karginov lost a little over three minutes, the third result was shown by Eduard Nikolaev, who lost 6 minutes and 11 seconds.

In the overall standings, Sotnikov is in the lead, 11 minutes and 25 seconds ahead of Nikolaev. The third place was taken by Anton Shibalov - a gap of 40 minutes and 23 seconds.

The ninth stage, 287 km long, will take place on Tuesday, January 11.
