Our 1,300 square meter curling hall with two standard lanes is one of the few commercial professional venues in Beijing. We love curling, this sport combines skill and ingenuity, we are confident in the wonderful future of our business.

Kerling Hall - an outdoor area

Thanks to the Winter Olympic Games-2022 in Beijing and a national action to enjoy 300 million people to winter sports, people have noticeably increased in Kerling. We saw the prospect of curling development and in 2018 we opened our own curling hall. Our goal is to create an open platform for curling learners and amateurs to receive systematic, comprehensive education and practice on the professional court.

Now four professional trainers work in our curling hall, the hall is equipped with a set of specialized inventory and equipment. The curling hall hosts regular training sessions for four regional and five school teams from Beijing.

For example, the Shijingshan curling team trains here three times a week. The team is formed and coached by a couple of coaches who work in the curling hall and take part in the entire preparation process - from the selection of players, training to theory. Thanks to three years of preparation, this team takes first place in the Beijing League competition.

In order to exchange experience and improve the results of the teams, several competitions are held annually in the curling hall. The Qinghai provincial team and the Shanghai primary and secondary school team came to Beijing to exchange experiences and practice. Chinese curlers who recently won the 2021 World Wheelchair Curling Championship have also trained at our curling hall many times.

The curling hall has a club system. Now there are hundreds of people in the curling club, the oldest of them is 52 years old. Elderly sports fans sometimes meet in the curling hall, play and socialize. But most of the trainees are schoolchildren.

Curling is a sports game on ice in which two teams of four people compete to accurately hit the coveted circle (house) of special projectiles - a bit (a disk with a handle weighing 20 kg and measuring 30x40 cm) made of granite and called stones. An ice track 31 m long is being prepared for throwing bats

Zhao Zitong, 11, started curling two years ago. Power control during the throw, flexible tactics, interaction with other team members are all necessary skills for a curler. Zhao Zitong regularly trains at the curling hall and takes part in curling competitions in Beijing. She says:

- I'm just learning how to play curling, so I hope that the audience, seeing the mistakes of the athletes at the competitions, will not laugh. After all, it takes courage to compete.

The future of curling hall

Our curling hall is a kind of platform that connects curling fans with officials, schools, coaches, students, etc.

We opened our curling hall thanks to the Winter Olympics. As interest in this sport grows, we hope that in the future our curling hall students will develop into professionals who will be part of the youth team and the national team, representing China in international competitions, including the Winter Olympics.

We also have ideas for the development of the curling hall after the Olympics. The state provides us with support, but we believe that it is difficult to develop and grow, relying only on subsidies. We plan to use market leverage. This is the only way to spread this sport. We want to cooperate with partners to create even more professional curling halls in other cities. We will cooperate with provincial national teams to form an army of professionals for our country. This is our dream.
