“It's time to present something”: the deputy announced the withdrawal of Russian cinema from the market

Actor, director and deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Nikolai Burlyaev said that Western cinema, which is often accused of excessive tolerance, does not offer the viewer art, representing a "spectacular void." He said in an interview with REN TV that he is a serious threat, as new generations are growing on his basis.

Culture and the market are incompatible concepts, they have different tasks, the parliamentarian believes. According to him, the goal of culture is to raise the soul of a person, to enlighten, enlighten, and the market is to make money.

Burlyaev admitted that America has no equal in market culture, they succeeded in this. The deputy cited the words of the Russian thinker Ivan Ilyin that this kind of "art" is a profitable trade.

“It's a spectacular void. This emptiness is the formation of generations that grow up on this so-called culture, ”the representative of Russia believes.

He pointed out that officials of the Ministry of Culture are mistaken, claiming that everything is fine in the cinema, "apparently, they do not know what true cinema is."
