The National Security Committee (KNB) of Kazakhstan has begun work on reformatting its activities. It is reported by TASS.
“In pursuance of the instructions of the head of state, announced on January 11 at the plenary meeting of the Majilis (lower house) of the parliament and on January 27 at the meeting of the Security Council, the KNB began work on reformatting the activities of the department. A special working group has been created to assess and optimize the structure, tasks and functions of the KNB bodies, including the Border Guard Service and the Special Purpose Service “A,” the KNB press service said in a statement.
They noted that the issues of restructuring activities and strengthening units for combating terrorism, transnational organized crime and international drug trafficking, as well as for ensuring economic security were highlighted separately. Measures are also being developed to strengthen the combat readiness of personnel.
Earlier, the government of Kazakhstan approved a resolution according to which the wages of ministers, deputies and heads of cities of the republic will not increase.
