Russia (bbabo.net), - Online cinemas (Kion, Wink, Premier) released the Yakut film "Yt" directed by Stepan Burnashev and Dmitry Davydov. In 2021, the film received the Special Jury Prize at the 37th Warsaw International Film Festival with the wording "For a pure cinematic look at simple everyday life." Also in Warsaw, the film received a special mention from the NETPAC jury.
"Yt" is seven anecdotal stories. As if light, but with a philosophy and a rather serious morality. For them, you can even bring out a separate genre - "film fables". They look easy. Are remembered for a long time. I would like to talk about them in the company and cite what was said as an example. Children can watch too.
The shooting of the picture was started by the authors, apparently, in order to let ordinary people feel the truth - nothing happens just like that. Harmless actions can have irreversible consequences, and those that a person did not even imagine. The first short story about a boy who, without the knowledge of his father, "borrowed" a real hunting rifle to his friend. It was kept in a barn under lock and key, but the boys are very observant and dexterous people. As you know, the gun should shoot. And now, behind the magnanimous act of a little man, there is a harbinger of great trouble ...
The authors give the viewer time for reflection after each short story. In a figurative sense. Sometimes this time goes beyond the movie. The viewer not only sorts through his guesses, they say, how events developed further, but also thinks about how to communicate with his neighbors. The second short story is an ordinary neighborly dispute between two families whose houses and plots are located nearby. There is a conflict. Wives and husbands react differently to it. One neighbor just wants to teach the other a lesson. However, he learns a terrible lesson himself.
The third story is about two friends Kolya and Petya. They are also neighbors. But when one of them, celebrating a successful deal, lost a large amount of money, and the second bought a new car a couple of days later, it seemed obvious to everyone who the thief was. People have speculation. It’s hard to just approach and ask about an act, and it’s hard to believe in any answer. However, all may not be what it seems. But sometimes you can't fix your mistakes.
Another short story is similar to the scene in Pavel Lungin's film "Poor Relatives". One brother has gone berserk and is holding the whole family at gunpoint. He has a gun in his hands. Another brother, who holds a high position in the district administration, is called to rectify the situation. You can put everything in its place with the help of a crowbar, against which - it is known - there is no reception. And you can show ingenuity. The second brother turned out to be a brainy guy - it is not in vain that he occupies a commanding post. But stories like this don't always end like this one.
The next short story is about elections. The husband votes for one candidate, the wife for another. As a result, they do not talk to each other and move away as much as possible. In this short story, the most interesting thing is the arguments: why exactly the closest relatives hold different points of view. What claims will be made against those who are running for office.
And here is the high boss himself. But already another and in the next short story. Got into an accident on the road. Got behind the wheel drunk. Bosses solve their problems differently than ordinary people. And now a cunning plan to get out of the situation is ready - the benefit of a friend-relative works in the traffic police and was called to the crime scene. However, the higher ranks are about to come to sort it out. They should present the right picture of the crime. And quickly deal with dissenting witnesses from a passing minibus. It would seem that a few minutes on the road, and people's lives can radically and inevitably change - both for the better and for the worse.
There is also a conflict in the final story. Here, because of a duck, two hunters fought to the death, not for life. No one is going to stop - just about one will decide the other. But suddenly an ordinary bird shows people how to behave, and what is important in this life.
Perhaps the comparison will sound strange, but the creators of this picture, in particular, directors Stepan Burnashev and Dmitry Davydov, can be compared with the Yakut Woody Allen. Simple stories, ordinary examples. And look closely - the whole essence of our life.
