Kiriyenko lived a worthy, real and beautiful life, like herself

People's Artist of the RSFSR Zinaida Kiriyenko died in Moscow. Shortly before that, she was hospitalized in intensive care in a serious condition. During her long career, the 88-year-old actress has performed more than 30 roles in cinema - the audience best remembers her Natalia in the film Quiet Flows the Don. At the age of 89, the People's Artist of the RSFSR Zinaida Kiriyenko died. The fact that she passed away on the night of February 12 was reported in the Union of Cinematographers of Russia.

The actress, known for film adaptations of the works of Mikhail Sholokhov "Quiet Don" and "The Fate of a Man", was hospitalized in serious condition with a hemorrhagic stroke. Her condition was complicated by pancreatic cancer and coronavirus (in the hospital, the PCR test showed a positive result).

Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed condolences to the family and friends of the actress. “Zinaida Mikhailovna Kirienko was a wonderful actress, endowed with a bright talent and sincere generosity. Her departure is a great, irreparable loss for cinematography and national culture,” reads a publication on the Kremlin’s website. Putin noted that the creative heritage of the actress will forever remain with the Russians.

In a conversation with Honored Artist of the RSFSR Boris Tokarev, Zinaida Kiriyenko played amazing roles. “Now everyone remembers “Quiet Flows the Don” or the same “Two Captains”, where she played my mother. But there are amazing works in "Cossacks", for example, where she played Maryana. There is an amazing work "The Thieving Magpie" and so on, there are a lot of these roles. She lived a decent, real and beautiful life, like herself, ”recalls the actor.

He added that the people's artist was very kind in personal communication: “They say that the eyes are the mirror of the soul. Zinaida Mikhailovna's eyes were amazing. They had everything: incredible kindness, incredible purity. No dirt could ever stick to this man.”

The farewell ceremony for Zinaida Kiriyenko will be held on Tuesday, February 15, at the Cinema House. The funeral will take place at the Troyekurovsky cemetery.

Performed more than 30 roles in films and serials

The theater and film actress Zinaida Kiriyenko was born in Makhachkala on July 9, 1933. At the age of 25, she graduated from the Moscow Acting Department of the current All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography named after S.A. Gerasimov. Kiriyenko played in theater on Malaya Bronnaya, as well as in the Film Actor Theater Studio, where she worked for more than 30 years.

She also played in the film "Deep Current" (2005) and the TV series "One Love of My Soul" (2007), in which she became one of the last roles.

For the game in the films "Earthly Love" and "Fate" she became the winner of the USSR State Prize in 1979 in the field of literature, art and architecture.

From 2008 to 2011, Zinaida Kiriyenko was the chairman of the board of the Central House of Artists in Moscow. She was a member of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation and the Russian Academy of Cinematographic Arts "Nika".

In addition, she was engaged in social activities. Kiriyenko was a member of the presidium of the All-Russian public movement "Mothers of Russia" and was a member of the regional public organization "Compatriots" Stavropol.
