Russia - Residents of Odintsovo were introduced to earthen art

Russia (bbabo.net), - The residents of the Odintsovo district of the region have the opportunity to gracefully walk along the red carpet. And for everyone else who wishes to get to Malevich's Odintsovo Park. The first land art project of Russian artists "White Forest" was opened there.

Literally, land art is earthen art. This creative direction, which arose in the late 60s of the last century, implies the unity of the work created by the artist with the natural landscape. Imagine: an artist paints a life-size tree on canvas. Barely rising from the roots, the tree ends because the canvas has ended. And then the canvas is attached to a real tree - and it seems to begin to sprout from the picture. And you, just seeing this, cannot understand what gives such a hologram effect, why there are such piercingly fresh colors on a separate piece of wood, and where ideally even forms come from in the forest. And only coming closer, you realize - this is a picture. A living tree is its logical continuation.

Land art comes from the USA, and large exhibitions and themed festivals have been held there for a long time. "And in our country this direction is presented sporadically. But it seemed interesting to us to work with him in the suburbs, where there is a diverse landscape and beautiful parks. Together with young artists, we decided that Malevich Park is an excellent location for a series of works that will enter into a dialogue with nature, - says Elena Kharlamova, Minister of Culture of the Moscow Region.

One of them is called "Nowhere". Author Grigory Orekhov simply laid out a 250-meter red carpet made of polypropylene in the middle of a snowy forest, which from a certain angle seems endless. You can walk through it yourself. And you can stand nearby and watch how the faces and postures of other passers-by change as they step onto the scarlet canvas. On neighboring alleys, six-meter canvases performed by artists Irina Korina, Olga Petrunenko, Alexei Luka and the Artistic Solitude art group are randomly placed. Some of the works are the same holograms from which trees "grow", others are abstractions that surprisingly organically fit into the park landscape. And there were also mirror surfaces, geometric shapes and a strange three-dimensional composition called "Fulcrum". It consists of different textures, but they are all wooden - and what else can be a fulcrum in the forest?

By the way, the Odintsovo District is no stranger to cultural innovations. Three years ago, the international graffiti festival Urban Morphogenesis was held here, painting residential skyscrapers in the Novaya Trekhgorka microdistrict in all colors of the spectrum. And since then, few of the guests of the city drive past bright houses without slowing down. Now another bright spot has appeared in Odintsovo - "White Forest". Only if the multicolored New Trekhgorka remains forever, then the land art project in Malevich Park will last only until the beginning of spring. Hurry to see.
