Russia - All the symphonies of Johannes Brahms will be performed in St. Petersburg

Russia (bbabo.net), - All of Brahms' symphonies will be performed in the Great Hall of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic in two evenings on February 11 and 12.

They will be performed by the honored team of Russia - the Philharmonic Academic Symphony Orchestra - conducted by the legend of world performing arts, conductor Eliahu Inbal. According to the Philharmonic, the program of the first evening included the First and Third Symphonies of Brahms, and the next day the Second and Fourth will be performed.

In the era of romanticism, Brahms' symphonies often received reproaches from contemporaries for being old-fashioned. But today they are considered among the most perfect in the European musical heritage, along with the symphonies of Beethoven, Bruckner, Mahler and Shostakovich, they form the basis of the world symphonic repertoire.

The outstanding Israeli conductor Eliahu Inbala is a star of the world performing arts; last year he celebrated his 85th birthday. For many years, the maestro directed the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, was the principal conductor of the Venetian theater La Fenice, the Czech Philharmonic, the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra and the Taipei Symphony Orchestra.
