Hollywood actor Johnny Depp will be awarded the Gold Medal of Merit for the Republic of Serbia for his contribution to the cultural development of the country. This was reported by the news agency "Tanyug".
Depp will receive the medal "for exceptional contributions to the country, to its efforts to expand and improve the local art community." This will happen at the meeting on February 15 on the occasion of Statehood Day.
Depp was in Belgrade last fall promoting Puffins Impossible - Dead Ends, an animated series produced in Serbia by Iervolino Studios (IES) Animated Content Production Studio and produced with the support of the Serbian Ministry of Culture and Information.
As part of his visit to Belgrade, the actor was received by President Aleksandar Vucic. The actor gave the President a puffin plush toy.
Earlier it became known that Johnny Depp will play the role of the French king Louis XV in the new film directed by Mayvenn le Besco. Filming will start in summer 2022. The film will be filmed in different locations in Paris, mainly at the Palace of Versailles. The film's title and plot are being kept under wraps.
