The name of the exhibition is provocative - "It will be too late when you scream "Oh": from the history of the fight against epidemics in Russia in the 20th century".

Visitors will be shown more than 100 posters and manuals on the fight against infectious diseases from 1920 to 1990. During the Civil War, the country faced not only devastation and famine, but also many infectious diseases. One of the means of struggle was posters created by artists and poets who collaborated with the Russian Telegraph Agency. In particular, those that were created by the artist of the Petrograd branch of the ROSTA Windows agency Vladimir Lebedev during the cholera epidemic in Petrograd in the summer of 1921.

The campaign sheets of the 1930s, announcing the "campaign for cleanliness", were made mainly in the spirit of constructivism, with characteristic techniques of photomontage, effective angles of composition - a separate art form. As everyone already knows, in the 1930s, a mandatory vaccination against smallpox was introduced for everyone, which made it possible to eliminate natural smallpox in the USSR by 1936. In the 1950s, such posters did not disappear. In those years, they fought for a "culture of everyday life" - hygiene, proper cooking from the point of view of sanitary standards.

And the posters of the 1960s-1990s turn out to be more optimistic and talk about the successes of science, technology and medicine.
