First teaser trailer for Lord of the Rings series released

Amazon has released the first trailer for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power series based on John Tolkien's universe.

In a short clip that was first shown at the Super Bowl, the elves Galadriel and Elrond apparently prepare for battle, and hobbits can also be seen.

Rings of Power is scheduled to premiere on September 2, 2022, and will air once a week on Prime Video for a total of 8 episodes in the show's first season. Rings of Power has already been officially renewed for a second season, with a possible five seasons.

In total, based on the works of John Tolkien "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit", two trilogies of the same name were released, released respectively in 2001-2003 and 2012-2014. They were filmed by New Zealand director Peter Jackson.

The first footage from the series was released on February 11 and sparked controversy among fans of Tolkien's books, who were unhappy that some of the elves turned out to be dark-skinned.
