Ukraine may be removed from Eurovision

The chairman of the board of the National Public Television and Radio Company of Ukraine Mykola Chernotitsky (NOTU) did not rule out that after the scandal with the participant representing Ukraine at Eurovision 2022, the country could be removed from participation in this song contest. He made the corresponding statement on the air of the First TV channel.

“If the European Broadcasting Union finds that the competition is politicized, unfortunately, it may be that Ukraine will not be represented at all,” Chernotitsky said.

On the eve it became known that the Ukrainian TV channel Suspilne sent a request to the State Border Service of Ukraine about whether the team of singer Alina Pash, who won the Ukrainian selection for Eurovision 2022, crossed the border with Crimea on February 12.

Previously, the channel has already received a refusal from the border guards to provide information about the artist crossing the border - this data is confidential. The team provided a certificate allegedly received by the performer, which was the basis for the continued participation of Alina Pash in the national selection. Help may be fake.

Pash was previously included in the database of the scandalous Ukrainian site "Peacemaker" for visiting the Crimea.

The final of the music competition will be held on May 14, 2022 at one of the largest arenas in Italy - Pala Alpiturin.

In March 2014, a referendum was held in Crimea, as a result of which the peninsula became a territorial part of Russia, and Sevastopol became a city of federal significance. Ukraine does not recognize the results of the referendum.
