If there is a war, who will need my art?

Western media claim that the war between Ukraine and Russia may start on February 16th. I learned from representatives of Russian show business whether they believe that an armed clash of countries will really happen.

Vladimir Pozner, journalist

— I am very worried about the situation and strongly hope that there will be no invasion. I am inclined to trust our leaders who refute reports of such plans, but I am afraid of provocations. I'm afraid there are people on this side and on the other side who would like this clash. I am 75% sure that there will be no war, but 25% maybe.

Yuri Kara, director

- Unfortunately, war is possible because Boris Johnson, Joe Biden and Vladimir Zelensky are in a bad situation [politically]. We remember a similar example when Bill Clinton was impeached and he began to bomb Yugoslavia. Without that attempt to remove him from the presidency, Clinton would not have dared to take such extreme measures.

War, of course, is not needed. Our management is doing everything to avoid it. I hope it still doesn't happen.

Yuri Loza, singer

— I have always been a pacifist and against armed clashes — for me, even a bad peace is better than a good war. I want us to be friends. But we are talking about conditional generals, each of them dreams of a small victorious war.

There is an expression: "When the guns rumble, the muses are silent." After all, if the war starts, who will need my art? Nobody. Ride to the front line and speak to the soldiers? We already went through this during the Great Patriotic War, that's enough. This is not necessary - neither for artists, nor for anyone else.

Generals want to fight, politicians want to achieve something through war. They say that "the war will write everything off." So some people want to launder their income through it.

Anatoliy Vasserman, TV presenter

— A war between Ukraine and the Russian Federation is possible only on the initiative of Ukraine. He repeatedly said that in the event of a war, it would last four days. Because the armed forces of the Russian Federation, the holders of the current record after the Five-Day War (talking about the armed conflict in South Ossetia in 2008 -), will try to act like great athletes - they will leave a reserve for future records. At the same time, it is clear that the capture of armed formations subordinate to Kiev should take much less time.

I think Ukraine will try not to commit suicide. But, most likely, she will be forced - around August. This will happen when the US Democratic Party comes to the conclusion that it has no other way to avoid a complete failure in the November parliamentary elections.

Iosif Prigozhin, producer

- Many Russians have Ukrainian blood - so it's tantamount to war with close relatives. Ukrainian politicians should sober up and not play their games, the people are not cannon fodder. We need to sit down and negotiate, to use diplomatic tools to the maximum.

Vladimir Zelensky amazes me - being a humorist, he criticized the authorities in every possible way. But now he has turned into the same scarecrow, over which he himself laughed. In the past, we loved and respected him as a creative person. But the presidency is not the Comedy Club, but the fate of people. He could win the election and then leave, saying, they say, I won’t pull it. People would respect him even more then. If, nevertheless, he jumped into this business, then let him play as a politician and diplomat.

I don't blame either side. I am annoyed by the falsification in the information field of facts and actions that Russia does not commit. In the whole situation, it is the lies of the Western media that worries me the most.

Evgeny Popov, TV presenter

- I'm sure there won't be a war. A local military operation is possible only if Kiev “tramples” Donetsk and Lugansk. But Zelensky is hardly a suicide. The hype around the "war", I suspect, is an internal game of the United States. Inflation, midterm elections, “freedom escort” (protests against COVID-passports - ) - you have to look somewhere here. On our continent, Washington is simply being “pulled up”.

The day before, February 14, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, at a meeting with President Vladimir Putin, said that Russia had prepared a 10-page document with a response from the United States and NATO on security guarantees. On February 15, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov announced that troops from the Southern and Western Military Districts had completed exercises in western Russia and Belarus and were returning to their garrisons.
