Russia - A grandiose symphony concert by Stas Namin will take place in Zaryadye

Russia (bbabo.net), - On March 17, within the framework of the Cherry Forest Open Arts Festival in the Zaryadye Hall, the GSO "New Russia" will perform three symphonic works by Stas Namin: Suite "Autumn in St. Petersburg" (conductor - N. a. USSR Yuri Bashmet), CENTURIA S-QUARK symphony (conductor - Lee Reynolds, Great Britain) accompanied by a choreographic composition, as well as fragments of the new ballet Vices and Love (soloist - laureate of the XVI International Competition named after P.I. Tchaikovsky Konstantin Emelyanov, piano).

One of the highlights of spring 2022 is a concert at the ZARYADYE Hall, where the famous musician, artist, director, producer, founder and permanent leader of the Tsvety group, Stas Namin, who recently celebrated his 70th birthday, will open another facet of his talents - their symphonic works. This is perhaps his least known role in Russia, while in the world his opuses are known and highly appreciated by critics.

Stas was introduced to music from early childhood. His mother Nami Mikoyan, a musicologist and writer, was friends with Dmitri Shostakovich, Aram Khachaturian, Mstislav Rostropovich, Leonid Kogan, Alfred Schnittke, Giya Kancheli, Georgy Sviridov. These and other musicians and composers often visited her. Stas's first music teacher was the composer Arno Babajanyan.

In the late eighties, Namin created the Moscow Symphony Orchestra, and in the nineties this orchestra recorded the first five parts of his symphonic suite "Autumn in St. Petersburg". After 2010, Namin fully concentrated on symphonic music and completed work on "Autumn", writing three more parts for it. For the first time all eight movements were performed at the Moscow International House of Music in 2011 by the Russian Federal Symphony Orchestra. This concert has been released on DVD and CD. Today Namin's suite is performed by symphony orchestras in Russia and abroad.

The suite "Autumn in St. Petersburg" is dedicated to the first part of the concert, which will also become a kind of anniversary for it - the tenth anniversary of the premiere performance.

Also in the first part of the famous Moscow pianist, laureate of the XVI International Competition. PI Tchaikovsky Konstantin Yemelyanov, accompanied by an orchestra, will perform fragments from Namin's new ballet "Vices and Love", created based on Mikhail Shemyakin's sculptural composition "Children - Victims of Adult Vices".

The second part of the concert will feature Centuria S-Quark, completed by Namin and recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra (LSO) in 2016. This recording was released on CD by Navona Records (UK-USA) and caused a lot of positive feedback in the Western press.

The Russian premiere of Centuria S-Quark took place in 2017 in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory - it was performed by the Russian National Orchestra in the edition of the conductor, People's Artist of Russia Mikhail Pletnev. In April 2017, on the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Armenian Genocide, along with the symphony of Aram Khachaturian, it was shown on the Culture channel.

Lee Reynolds, the same conductor who recorded it six years ago at Abbey Road Studios with the London Symphony Orchestra, was invited to conduct the symphony at the Zaryadye Hall concert from the UK.

The performance of Centuria S-Quark will be accompanied by an original plastic composition created by choreographer Ekaterina Goryacheva on the themes of a symphony at the Stas Namin Theater and highly appreciated at the international festival of contemporary experimental theater in Cairo.
