Russia - Nominees for the 35th Nika Prize Announced

Russia (bbabo.net), - The list of nominees for the "Nika" film award has been announced. According to the rules of the competition, the first round of voting for the Nika National Film Award for 2021 was held from February 1 to February 21. 47 feature films, 42 non-fiction films, 21 animation films took part in the first round of voting. On February 27, the counting of votes ended. Several hundred people took part in the voting. According to the editor-in-chief of the Nika film academy, Irina Ilyicheva, the struggle of opinions turned out to be serious, and therefore there are more applicants in several categories than ever.

So, in the category "Best Film" - six films. These are "Ivan Denisovich" by Gleb Panfilov, "Medea" by Alexander Zeldovich, "Captain Volkonogov fled" by Natasha Merkulova and Alexei Chupov, "Unclenching his fists" by Kira Kovalenko, "Compartment number 6" by Juho Kuosmanen and "Lessons of Farsi" by Vadim Perelman. Zeldovich, Kovalenko, Merkulova-Chupov and Perelman claim the title of "Best Director".

Yuri Borisov (the film "Captain Volkonogov fled"), Pavel Derevyanko ("Accomplices"), Merab Ninidze ("The Case"), Filipp Yankovsky ("Ivan Denisovich") can be called the best performers of the male role. Three actresses in the nomination "Best Actress" - Tinatin Dalakishvili ("Medea"), Milana Aguzarova ("Opening Fists"), Ksenia Rappoport ("Mom, I'm Home!").

Among the contenders for "Nika" for the best supporting roles are Timofey Tribuntsev ("Captain Volkonogov fled"), Yuri Kolokolnikov ("Petrovs in the Flu"), Alexander Pal ("Case") and Andrey Smolyakov ("The Sea Worries Once") - men; Yulia Aug ("The Dormitory"), Yulia Peresild ("Petrovs in the flu"), Olga Lapshina ("Tear it off and throw it away") and Yana Troyanova ("The End of the Movie") are women.

The nomination "Discovery of the Year" attracts special attention. It features actress Milana Aguzarova ("Unclenching Fists"), directors Roman Vasyanov ("Company"), Evgeny Grigoriev ("Accomplices") and Lyubov Mulmenko ("Danube"). And also - screenwriter Maria Izyumova ("Mom, I'm at home!").

The best documentary film can be named one of the films "Who won you no one" by Lyubov Arkus, "Rastorguev" by Evgeny Ostanin, "There will be no other us" by Pyotr Shepotinnik.
