The Kremlin hopes for a quick solution to the problem of indexing pensions

The Kremlin expects that in the near future the task of indexing pensions in Russia not lower than the inflation rate will be solved, said Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation.

“The position of [Russian President Vladimir] Putin regarding the indexation of pensions based on real inflation, of course, remains in force and remains relevant. How this will be done, we hope, will become known in the near future, ”a Kremlin spokesman said at a briefing with reporters.

From January 1, 2022, the size of the insurance pension will grow by 5.9% in Russia, and the social one - by 7.7%. So, the average payment will exceed 17 thousand rubles, which is almost a thousand more than in 2021. Social supplements will also be received by citizens whose pensions are below the new subsistence minimum - 14,009 rubles.

From 2022, new rules for the payment of pensions will also come into force. In addition, pensions cannot be withheld for debts if a person is declared bankrupt.

In early December 2021, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed laws defining the budgets of the PFR, FSS and MHIF for 2022-2024. So, the average annual insurance pension in 2022 will be 17,115 rubles, in 2023 - 17,893 rubles, in 2024 - 18,733 rubles.
