A state of emergency in the energy sector may be declared in Moldova

Moldova (bbabo.net) - The Commission for Emergency Situations (CES) of Moldova is to meet to discuss the need to declare a state of emergency (PE) in the energy sector, in order to avoid a possible crisis. This was announced by the Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Andrei Spinu during a press conference, trm.md reports.

“The alarm warning of increased readiness in the natural gas market has not lost its relevance, we are constantly on alert. The gas crisis continues. And as long as there is no price stability at the European level, there is no need to talk about a way out of the crisis. The gas market alarm was introduced in October and has not yet been lifted. The topic of the state of emergency will be discussed at a meeting of the Commission for Emergency Situations (CES), we will hear the report of JSC Moldovagaz, and see what solutions they have found during this time, then we will take an appropriate decision. Also, the supervisory board of JSC "Moldovagaz" should meet, which will be attended by representatives of "Gazprom", and the current situation will be discussed. As a result of this, the issue of the need to introduce a state of emergency in the energy sector will be resolved, ”said Andrei Spinu.

We remind you that in October the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova declared a state of emergency in the energy sector for 30 days.

Earlier, Spinu said that the tariff for natural gas could be increased from February "to 14 lei 60 or 70 bani per cubic meter."
