Since the sick leave payment depends on the amount of the employee's salary and insurance experience, those with a salary of more than 78 thousand rubles a month and an insurance record of more than eight years can count on the maximum allowance . If the salary is less, and the insurance experience is the same, then the employee will receive a payment calculated based on 100% of the average earnings.

With an insurance experience of 5 to 8 years, the amount of sick leave payment will be 80% of the average earnings, and with an insurance experience of up to 5 years - 60%. In 100% of the amount, regardless of the employee's insurance record, sick leave is paid for caring for children up to seven years old inclusive.

The minimum sick leave payment in 2022 is 456 rubles 66 kopecks per day

The minimum sick leave is calculated based on the minimum wage (minimum wage), this year it is 13 890 rubles . The monthly payment for the bulletin cannot be less. 456 rubles 66 kopecks per day. It is calculated as follows: the minimum wage is multiplied by 24 months (since the estimated period for average earnings is two years) and is divided by 730 days.

Sick leave pay is calculated based on the employee's average earnings for two calendar years. However, two or one year of this billing period can now be replaced if the employee was on maternity or parental leave at the time. Replacement of years is possible only at the request of the employee and if this leads to an increase in the amount of the benefit.

Recalculation of benefits for temporary incapacity for work is possible only for insured events that occurred after January 1, 2022, the years can be changed to immediately preceding ones.

Sick leave payments are now calculated proactively

Temporary disability benefits are now calculated automatically upon closing the certificate of incapacity for work . It will be transferred directly to the employee by the Social Insurance Fund without diverting the employer's funds. No applications for payment are required, the money will be received immediately after the mark on the closure of the certificate of incapacity for work appears in the information system of the Social Insurance Fund. It now compulsorily accommodates all sick leave, which, from January 1 of this year, doctors are required to issue in electronic form.
