The service is considered to be in demand: today, almost every third such parcel is paid for by card, the share of non-cash payments in general in the post office has grown from 23% to 31% over the year, says Artem Stepin, Director of Marketing and Product Development of the Russian Post. The new service will be of interest to sellers from social networks and ad services that sell goods without a contract with the post office for their delivery.

Cashless payment for cash on delivery parcels was introduced at the post office at the end of 2020, previously payment was only possible in cash. The development of cashless payments occurred against the backdrop of the coronavirus pandemic, quarantine restrictions and, as a result, increased demand for delivery services from e-commerce companies.
