Russia - Moscow's non-commodity non-energy exports grew by a quarter in 2021

Russia (bbabo.net), - Last year, Moscow exported non-resource non-energy products to 183 countries. As a result, a total of $29.07 billion was sold, which is 25.4 percent more than in the same period in 2020 and 29.2 percent more than in 2019.

The main importers were Kazakhstan, Belarus, the USA, Germany and China. This was announced by Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations Vladimir Yefimov.

The growth of non-commodity non-energy exports is especially important for Moscow, since within the framework of the national project "International Cooperation and Export" by 2030, the capital, along with other regions, faces the task of ensuring real growth in exports of these products by at least 70 percent compared to the indicator 2020.

Vladimir Yefimov said: “Moscow remains the main Russian supplier of non-resource non-energy products. In January-November 2021, the share of the capital’s exports amounted to 17.2 percent of the nationwide. During this period, deliveries from city enterprises and companies increased by 25.4 percent compared to the same period in 2020 and amounted to $29.07 billion."

Kazakhstan remains the leader among importers - deliveries there amounted to $3.03 billion. Belarus is also among the partners - exports to this country amounted to $2.88 billion, the United States - $2.38 billion, Germany - $1.63 billion, China - $1.53 billion - and Japan - $1.14 billion.

Alexander Prokhorov, Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy of Moscow, noted: “If you look at the structure of the capital’s exports, the supply of industrial products accounts for the largest part of the Moscow NOE - 88 percent. Over the 11 months of 2021, Moscow exporters sent industrial goods abroad worth $25.54 billion , which is almost 29 percent more than in the same period of 2020. Among them, for example, machinery, equipment, optics."

According to specialists from the Mosprom center, Moscow companies sent mechanical equipment and machinery worth $2.65 billion abroad, which is 37.5 percent more than in January-November 2020. The volume of exports of electrical devices and communication equipment increased by 36.4 percent and amounted to $1.55 billion. Deliveries of optics, devices and medical equipment reached $485.79 million, an increase of 30.2 percent, while exports of cosmetic products increased by 28 percent to $402.65 million.

Agro-industrial exports account for the remaining 12 percent of Moscow's NOE. There is also a positive trend here: according to the results of 11 months of 2021, the total cost of supplies amounted to $3.52 billion, which is 4.7 percent more than the same indicator in 2020. We are talking about sausages, chocolate, flour and confectionery products, ice cream and soft drinks.
