Russia (bbabo.net), - The government is discussing the regulation of the cryptocurrency market and so far is leaning towards the position of the Ministry of Finance. It is reported by "Kommersant" with reference to its own sources.

The publication notes that the legalization of cryptocurrency ownership according to rather strict rules will allow some Russian cryptocurrency owners to operate them as investment assets under state control through banks and with the payment of taxes.

Earlier, the Ministry of Finance spoke not for the ban on cryptocurrencies in Russia, but for their regulation. So, in a document sent to the office of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, it is proposed to carry out all cryptocurrency transactions through Russian banks. The department believes that such measures will allow to control transactions with cryptocurrency and identify all participants.

In turn, the Bank of Russia advocates a ban on almost all transactions with cryptocurrencies. The final future of cryptocurrencies in Russia will be determined in the next six months. The regulator published an advisory report in which it proposed to leave, in fact, only the ability to buy and sell cryptocurrencies on foreign platforms and, accordingly, own them.
