Russia (bbabo.net) - The Russian ruble has taken the last place in the list of the most undervalued currencies in the world, follows from the "Big Mac Index" published by The Economist magazine.
Recall that the "Big Mac Index" is based on the hypothesis that the same goods should cost the same in all countries of the world, and if this does not happen, then the local currency is undervalued or, conversely, overvalued.
So, now in the USA a burger costs 5.81 dollars (about 444 rubles), while in Russia you will have to pay 135 rubles (1.77 dollars) for it. The authors of the rating believe that now the Russian currency is undervalued by 70 percent, and its fair rate should be 23.24 rubles per dollar.
In 2021, the ruble took the penultimate place in the list of the most undervalued currencies. This year, the Turkish lira is in this position. Experts considered the Swiss franc and the Norwegian krone to be overvalued.
