Gazprom filed a lawsuit against the Polish company PGNiG

Gazprom has sued the Polish energy company PGNiG over its management of the EuRoPol GAZ joint venture.

“PGNiG received a summons from PJSC Gazprom for arbitration in relation to the payment of dividends from the profits of EuRoPol GAZ SA and the alleged infringement of rights in accordance with the corporate governance rules of Gazprom and members of the management board of EurRoPol GAZ appointed by Gazprom,” the publication reads on company website.

According to PGNiG, Gazprom's demands are completely unfounded. The company intends to prove it in the legal field.

EuRoPol GAZ is the operator of the Polish section of the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline.

Earlier, the European Court of Justice refused PGNiG to overturn the decision of the European Commission in an antitrust case against Gazprom. In parallel, the court issued another ruling - to cancel the decision of the European Commission to reject PGNiG's complaint about Gazprom's monopoly practices for procedural reasons.
