Polish company PGNiG filed a counterclaim against Gazprom

Polish energy company PGNiG has responded to Russian Gazprom's request for arbitration in Stockholm by filing a counterclaim to lower gas prices. This was reported on the website of the Polish organization.

“On February 11, the company responded to the demands of Gazprom, in which it asks to reject Gazprom’s claims as formally unacceptable or as factually unfounded,” the press service said.

PGNiG Chairman of the Board Pavel Maevsky added that the Polish company's response to the arbitration notice is clear - PGNiG will continue to demand that Gazprom's claims be dismissed.

PGNiG twice, in 2011 and 2015, exercised the right to arbitrate under the Yamal contract. As a result of the proceedings, which began in 2015, after 5 years, the Arbitration Court revised the contract price formula. As a result, the PGNiG requirement was satisfied.

Earlier in Russia, they told what the volume of gas supplies to Europe would depend on.
