Russia (bbabo.net), - A year-round tour of Lake Baikal on a unique hovercraft "Biryusa" was launched in Buryatia. The first group of tourists went on an expedition on February 10, the press service of the regional government reported.
- Today is a very significant day for the tourism sector of our republic, we are launching the largest hovercraft in Russia, made by the individual order of the Vodokhod company, onto the Baikal ice. Over the past year, we have done a lot of work together with the company, developed tourist routes in three regions of our republic: Pribaikalsky, Kabansky and Barguzinsky. We have planned and are implementing the improvement of places of tourist display, we are improving the catering sector, we are training tourism workers, we are also improving the qualifications of our guides, - said Ivan Alkheev, Deputy Chairman of the Government of Buryatia.
Unusual transport, accommodating 36 passengers, feels equally good on Baikal at any time of the year. On water, the ship can move at speeds up to 60 kilometers per hour, and on ice or snow it can reach speeds of up to 75 kilometers per hour. "Biryusa" can go into hard-to-reach bays and quickly moor to an unequipped shore. Transportation is completely safe. It is planned that by the end of the year 11 winter and 15 summer tours will be organized. Each of the cruises includes 20 locations.
As the Minister of Tourism of the Republic Aldar Dorzhiev noted, all conditions for a comfortable stay of passengers have been created on board.
- The ship is completely autonomous, there will be no waste from it. When choosing cooperation for the development of water tourism on Lake Baikal, this was one of the most important factors, Dorzhiev emphasized.
