The Kremlin spoke about the reorientation of the transit of Belarusian potash fertilizers to the ports of the Russian Federation

Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that at present the issue of reorienting the transit of Belarusian potash fertilizers from the Lithuanian port of Klaipeda to Russian ports is being discussed.

“This issue is on the agenda, it is being discussed, but if I am not mistaken, the reorientation of these flows has not yet begun. But he is on the agenda. For details, it’s better in the Ministry of Economic Development,” the Kremlin spokesman said during a briefing.

On the eve of the Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko said that Lithuania has stopped accepting Belarusian trains with potash fertilizers, which follow to the port of Klaipeda. In this situation, Minsk redirected the supply of potassium chloride to Russian ports.

The prime minister also said that Belarus is going to recover fines from Lithuania for terminating contracts for the transit of potassium, a corresponding lawsuit was filed with a Lithuanian court.
