Russia (bbabo.net), - Low-carbon development measures guarantee Russia's economic growth. This was stated in the office of First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov, TASS reports.
The Belousov secretariat issued such a statement following a meeting of the First Deputy Prime Minister with business representatives, which discussed the implementation of the strategy for the socio-economic development of the Russian Federation with low greenhouse gas emissions until 2050.
"The plan was prepared by the Ministry of Economic Development together with sectoral departments, the presidential administration, leading Russian companies and experts. The measures for the transition to low-carbon development laid down in the sectoral sections make it possible to guarantee economic growth while reducing greenhouse gas emissions," the secretariat notes.
Andrey Belousov instructed to finalize the plan for implementing the low-carbon strategy within two weeks. And the First Deputy Prime Minister ordered the Ministry of Economics and the Ministry of Finance to evaluate the funding necessary for implementation.
As a result of the same meeting, Anatoly Chubais, the special envoy of the President of the Russian Federation, predicted "a completely different life" with the introduction of a carbon tax.
