Russia - Large cities to replace old buses with electric buses

Russia (bbabo.net), - The urban electric transport modernization program provides not only for the renewal of the fleet of trams and trolleybuses, but also the possibility of replacing buses that have worked beyond their useful life with electric buses. This was reported in the office of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko.

The program is ready to run. 13 cities have already expressed their desire to participate in it. These are Nizhny Novgorod, Yaroslavl, Kursk, Krasnoyarsk, Krasnodar, Saratov, Ufa, Perm, Vladivostok, Tver, Rostov-on-Don, Irkutsk and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.

The problem of depreciation of urban transport in the regions is quite serious. According to a study by the All-Russian Popular Front (ONF), about 40% of buses in most regions have been in operation for more than 10 years, and in some this figure is even higher. And according to the "GTLK" in the country as a whole, the service life of 84% of buses, 62% of trolleybuses and 61% of trams has been exceeded.

It is noteworthy that so far there are no cities from the northern regions of the country in the program. But as explained in the apparatus of the Deputy Prime Minister, the territorial approach to the formation of a list of projects is not applied. All regions are allowed to participate in the program, regardless of the climate zone or federal district they are in. The regions are included in the list on the basis of preliminary confirmation of their interest in participating in the program by their management.

As previously reported by Kommersant, the total cost of implementing the program is estimated at 400 billion rubles for five years. Various financing options are being considered - budget loans, NWF funds (no more than 25% of the project cost), attraction of investor funds (up to 50% of the project cost), as well as VEB funds.
