The German Ministry of Economy has stopped the process of certification of Nord Stream 2

The German Ministry of Economy has suspended the certification process for Nord Stream 2. Spiegel reports.

It is noted that the corresponding decision was made against the backdrop of the situation around Ukraine.

Earlier, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said he asked the Federal Ministry of Economics to withdraw the report on energy security from the Federal Grid Agency. He assured that this step does not allow Nord Stream 2 to receive a certificate and be launched.

Prior to this, the head of the faction of the Social Democratic Party of Germany in the Bundestag, Rolf Mützenich, said that sanctions against Russia, which would be imposed in the event of Moscow's invasion of Ukraine, would affect the entire global economy and the international system in the long term.
