The Ministry of Agriculture is going to bring subsidies to bread producers by the end of March. This was announced by First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Russia Oksana Lut during her visit to Tatarstan, TASS reports.
“We have a tendency to increase consumer prices for bread. In order to support our bakers, in order to create a certain level of comfort for them in their activities, but at the same time stabilize bread prices, we will repeat the measures of last year, that is, we will make subsidies per kilogram of bread,” the Deputy Minister shared.
Lut noted that in 2021 the amount of compensation was 2 rubles per kilogram. In 2022, it will already amount to 2.5 rubles.
According to her, the decision on subsidies is already on the way out, and by the end of March the funds will already be able to go to the regions, which, in turn, should bring them to the bakers.
In early February, the Russian Union of Bakers (RSP) asked the Ministry of Agriculture to deal with retailers who demand lower selling prices to maintain their own profitability and threaten to withdraw products from the assortment.
