Maggi in danger: food regulator orders filing of case

Nestle India is heading for a legal trouble over safety standards of its famous Maggi noodles, as the Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) has given its go-ahead to file a case against the company.
The case will be lodged against the company's Nestle Nagal Kalan Industrial Area unit, Nestle India Limited, and an Easy Day outlet, among others.
Earlier, the Maggi samples taken for testing were found to have had monosodium glutamate and lead in excess of the prescribed limit. The quantum of lead present was 17 times more than the stipulated limit, which is considered hazardous.
There were no comments from the company.
