Russia (bbabo.net), - The Russian military destroyed the dam that blocked the flow of water from the North Crimean Canal to Crimea.

This was announced by the head of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sergey Aksenov on his page in Telegram.

The Black Sea Fleet clarified that the dam was destroyed by military engineers of the Black Sea Fleet by point detonation after the necessary calculations were made.

According to the head of the Republic of Kazakhstan, work to return the Dnieper water to the peninsula continues. The forces of the Ministry of Defense now have to clear a 4-kilometer section of the canal overgrown with forest on the territory of Ukraine. Work may take up to two weeks.

Earlier, the head of the region said that Ukrainian nationalists retreating from the south of the Kherson region blew up several hydraulic facilities of the North Crimean Canal: dampers and a technical bridge across the canal.

According to Aksyonov, by Monday, February 28, specialists will prepare a detailed plan for restoring the damaged canal infrastructure.
