Russia (bbabo.net), - VTB reported no problems with non-cash payments through payment terminals serviced by the bank. The service is available in full for cards of Russian banks, the press service of the credit institution assured.

This is how VTB commented on information that had previously appeared in the media about problems when paying for purchases in stores and traveling on the subway through terminals serviced by VTB.

"All acquiring services are available to customers in full, with the exception of accepting cards of non-resident issuers for payment," TASS reports with reference to the bank's press service.

VTB advised to use plastic cards in case of difficulties when paying using Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay services.

Recall that the United States and a number of other countries have imposed "blocking" sanctions against VTB, Sovcombank, Novikombank, Otkritie Bank, Promsvyazbank, Rossiya Bank, and Sberbank. With regard to the latter, the United States ordered its financial institutions to close correspondent accounts of Sberbank within 30 days and begin to reject any transactions involving it.

Earlier, the National Payment Card System (NSPK) explained that Visa and Mastercard payment cards of Russian banks that were sanctioned by Western states will work within Russia even if their membership in international payment systems is stopped. Standard contactless payment with these cards is available in full throughout the country. The money of bank customers has been saved in the accounts, all operations are available, the NSPK stressed.
