Sberbank decided to leave the European market in a difficult economic environment. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to representatives of the bank.
As the press service explained, the subsidiary banks faced an abnormal outflow of funds and a threat to the safety of workers.
“In the current environment, Sberbank has decided to withdraw from the European market. Subsidiary banks of the group faced an abnormal outflow of funds and a threat to the safety of employees and branches, ”the credit institution explained.
By virtue of the order of the Central Bank of Russia, Sberbank will not be able to supply liquidity to European subsidiary banks, the press service added.
It is emphasized that the assets of Sberbank will be enough to pay all depositors.
Earlier, Sberbank named the leading regions in terms of issuing preferential mortgages for the year. The highest demand for the State Support 2020 program was recorded in Moscow and the region, where 15.3 thousand mortgage loans were issued.
