Pumping Russian gas to Germany threatened to stop

Gazprom has ordered for December 20 the transit capacity of the Polish section of the Yamal - Europe gas pipeline, through which gas is supplied to Germany, at a monthly minimum. Interfax drew attention to this.

In total, the company planned 3.8 million cubic meters - 4.3% of the pipeline's throughput - out of the proposed 89.1 million.

As the agency writes, it is possible that already on December 20, from a physical point of view, the gas pipeline will be balancing on the verge of stopping.

A sharp decrease in the capacity of daily supplies began on Friday - then their volume amounted to 27 million cubic meters. The reservation for Saturday, December 18, was 5.2 million cubic meters, for Sunday - 4.7 million.

On December 17, a day-ahead auction was held, where Gazprom could buy out the capacity of the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline the next day in advance, as it had been doing for the entire current month. But the company declined the offer, preferring an "intraday" auction.

On November 15, Gazprom did not book additional capacities for the transit of natural gas through Ukraine and Poland at the last auction. It was about deliveries for December 2021. During the auction, volumes of 89 million cubic meters were offered. m per day.
