At the peak of the rise in price, the price per thousand cubic meters exceeded $ 2,200. True, on the eve of the New Year, the price of gas at the auctions dropped below $ 1,000 per thousand cubic meters.
On December 25, Gazprom spokesman Sergei Kupriyanov announced that the company is ready to supply additional volumes of gas to Europe under long-term contracts and is cheaper than the spot. According to him, Gazprom does not use this route, since a number of clients, in particular from France and Germany, have already fully selected all their annual contract volumes and are no longer submitting applications for gas supplies.
