Spinu considers the agreement between Moldovagaz and Gazprom a good one

Moldova (bbabo.net) - Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Andrei Spinu considers the agreement signed with Gazprom good. He stated this at a press conference on Tuesday. "I believe that we have signed a good agreement with Gazprom. Thanks to this agreement, we receive gas at prices significantly lower than prices on the world market," Spinu said, infotag.md reports.

He noted that in November 2021, the average price on the European market was $ 1104 per 1000 cubic meters, and Moldova received gas at a price of $ 485 per 1000 cubic meters (saving was 56%), in December 2021 the market price was $ 986 per 1000 cubic meters. meters (savings amounted to 54%), in January 2022 the market price is $ 1,359 per 1,000 cubic meters, and the gas price for RM is $ 646 per 1,000 cubic meters (savings will be 52%).

He confirmed that the issue of the formation of gas prices was discussed last week at a meeting of the Supreme Security Council, as well as at a meeting of a working group on energy created under the Ministry of Infrastructure.

“This is due to the fact that the gas crisis did not end in November, after the signing of an agreement with Gazprom. It also did not end in December or January. It will end when abnormal gas prices return to normal levels. But Moldova has too little opportunities to influence energy prices at the European level, "Spinu said.

Answering journalists' questions about the possibility of revising the terms of the agreement with Gazprom, he said that "we are not talking about this now."

"Of course, we would like to have even better conditions for the country and for consumers. But we have a good agreement. Thanks to this agreement, we saved about six billion lei in three months (about 300 million euros -" I "). And the gas crisis, which continues, it was not provoked by Moldova or Moldovagaz, this is due to the situation on the market, "Spinu stressed.

Answering journalists' questions about the reasons for new difficulties in paying for gas, he ruled out political pressure from Russia.

"The rise in gas prices is not related to politics. This is the situation on the European market, which is taken into account in the agreement," Spinu said.
