Lipetsk deputy will be tried for the performance of the USSR anthem at a meeting of the regional council

Member of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Alexander Ushakov was convicted for performing the anthem of the USSR during a meeting of the Lipetsk Regional Council of Deputies, the Rise newspaper reports.

The incident occurred on November 11, the council of deputies decided to send the materials to law enforcement agencies in December. The politician said that a protocol was drawn up against him under the article on disrespect for state symbols.

Ushakov called the incident "an exemplary flogging." According to him, he performed the version of the anthem of the Soviet Union in 1977 "as a sign of respect for Soviet history", while "not distorting the words." Ushakov stressed that "this was a response to a provocation by an LDPR deputy who compared Lenin to Hitler in his speech."

“I don't see my fault. This is direct pressure on independent deputies. They wanted to take me out for a demonstration flogging. I have the impression that this is deliberately fabricated, ”the politician said.

Earlier it was reported that a music teacher in Belarus was convicted of desecrating the anthem, the text of which, as stated in court, she changed.
