The diplomats called the OSCE an organization that "could potentially play a useful role" in supporting the agreements, if any, are reached as a result of meetings between representatives of Russia, the United States and NATO.

Earlier, Russia's permanent representative to the OSCE, Alexander Lukashevich, said that there was no adequate response or reaction to proposals for security guarantees from partners in the organization.
