The United States admitted that it could train Ukrainian fighters on the territory of three European countries in the event of an escalation of tension on the border of Ukraine. The New York Times writes about this, referring to unnamed representatives of the American administration.

According to them, as part of helping Kiev, the United States could organize training for "Ukrainian rebels" on NATO's eastern flank - in Poland, Romania and Slovakia.

CNN previously reported that the Washington administration has approved an additional $200 million in defense assistance to Kiev.

According to the channel's sources, this refers to allocations for the same items of equipment that the United States has already supplied in the past, including small arms and ammunition. The TV channel draws attention to the fact that the decision on additional defense assistance was made a few weeks before the talks between Russia and the United States that began on Monday.

Last fall and this winter, statements in the Western media, as well as in Ukraine, became more frequent that Russia was allegedly preparing a “large-scale invasion” of Ukraine. It is assumed that this will happen from three fronts: from the mainland, from the territory of Crimea, and also through Belarus.

Russia has repeatedly rejected such claims. Commenting on the thesis about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin recalled that this was discussed at the beginning of 2021, but this never happened.
