The Investigative Committee for the city of Ramenskoye interrogated Yury Babich, a member of the council of deputies of Volokolamsk, as a witness in the case of Artem Lyubimov, deputy chairman of the Volokolamsk election commission, who is accused of illegal trafficking in pornography. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the lawyer Andrey Aleshkin.

According to the representative of the defense, Babich crossed paths with Lyubimov as part of his professional activities.

On Wednesday, January 12, Babich's wife said that traffic police inspectors stopped their car, after which four men in civilian clothes, posing as employees of the criminal investigation department, pushed the deputy out of the car and drove away in an unknown direction.

Subsequently, it turned out that Babich was brought for interrogation to the department of the head office of the RF Investigative Committee for the city of Ramenskoye near Moscow as a witness. At the same time, according to him, he had not previously received summons or calls from the investigator, and the detention took place "with the use of brute physical force and the use of special means - handcuffs."
