Peskov: Russia does not threaten anyone with military actions

Russia (bbabo.net), - Relations between Russia and NATO have come to a red line due to the military support of Ukraine from the North Atlantic Alliance, said Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for the President of the Russian Federation.

"Nobody is threatening anyone with military action, it would be crazy to do that. But we will be ready to take retaliatory actions," Peskov said in an English-language interview with CNN.

The official representative of the Kremlin also drew attention to the fact that there are no Russian military in the Donbass and in general in Ukraine. "Russian troops are on the territory of the Russian Federation near the Ukrainian border, and we consider it necessary to leave them there in the face of a very tense situation, an unfriendly atmosphere created by various exercises, NATO fighters and spy planes, the advancement of NATO infrastructure to the borders," Dmitry Peskov stressed. He added that Russia is forced to react and take precautions.

In addition, the press secretary of the Russian leader recalled that the United States, when Germany was unified, promised the Soviet leadership not to extend NATO infrastructure to the East, but this was not recorded in a legally binding form.
