Earlier in Australia, Sputnik V was recognized to confirm the status of vaccination against coronavirus upon entry, since the Russian vaccine has proven effectiveness. Entry into the country is significantly limited; for citizens of foreign countries, a prerequisite is full vaccination with one of the drugs approved in the country.

“Given the fundamental attitude of the Australian authorities to the threat of the spread of coronavirus, their statement about the Russian vaccine is a very significant fact,” Dmitry Khubezov said. “This is another proof of the safety and reliability of our vaccine.”

He stressed that "Sputnik V" ("Gam-COVID-Vak"), developed at the Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology named after N.F. Gamaleya is recognized by many countries as one of the best in the world. The MP expressed confidence that thanks to vaccination and compliance with the necessary restrictive measures, the world will be able to stop the pandemic.

The decision was also commented on by Vladimir Sipyagin, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Science and Higher Education. According to him, this is the beginning of the promotion of the Russian drug in the world.

"As the experience of other countries shows, despite the surge in infection with the new Omicron strain, both in Europe and on the American continent it is possible to avoid serious consequences largely due to the high percentage of vaccinated citizens," the parliamentarian said.
