Russia - COVID-19 cases doubled in Kamchatka

Russia (bbabo.net), - In recent weeks, the number of cases of coronavirus infections detected per day has doubled in the Kamchatka Territory.

“In the middle of last week, the number of hospitalized people increased sharply to 30 people a day, now the situation has stabilized, and we are hospitalizing an average of 12-13 people in single hospitals. There are 600 people on outpatient treatment,” Andrey Kuzmin, Minister of Health of the region, said during an operational meeting.

Now 270 beds are deployed in monohospitals. Of these, only 159 are occupied, but there are no plans to reduce the number of places yet. They may be needed with a sharp increase in the number of patients.

Vaccination rates, although increased compared to the New Year holidays, continue to be insufficiently high.

"Over the last week - 252 people per day. This figure is identical to the 51 week of December, but far from 44-45 weeks, when 857 people were vaccinated per day," Kuzmin said.

Residents of the region are reminded that they can get vaccinated against COVID-19 at 38 stationary and mobile vaccination stations.
