Russia - In Chukotka, because of omicron, vacationers will take a PCR test

Russia (bbabo.net), - Heads of institutions and organizations in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug are recommended to allow employees who have returned from vacation or a business trip to work only with a negative PCR test, the press service of the ChAO Governor reported.

According to the head of the regional health department, Nadezhda Ishchenko, for the convenience of people, testing for COVID-19 will now be carried out not only in the morning, but also during the day. Everyone is subject to testing - both vaccinated against coronavirus and unvaccinated.

Another measure to curb the spread of the new strain "omicron" will be to control the arrival of shift workers and limit their movement through the settlements of the region.

"We expect an increase in the incidence in the coming weeks. We will manage the bulk of patients remotely in the form of a telephone survey. Now Chukotka has the highest level of herd immunity, so we expect that the majority of patients will be on outpatient treatment, and not in a hospital," - clarified Nadezhda Ishchenko.

According to the district operational headquarters, since the beginning of the pandemic, 2,995 residents of the Chernobyl Autonomous Okrug have been infected with the coronavirus, 41 have died. 48 people are in self-isolation, more than 97.5 thousand tests have been carried out.
