The head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, expressed serious concern about the situation around the territories not controlled by Kiev in southeastern Ukraine, where the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics are located, writes Euractiv.

From the point of view of a diplomat, in the context of the LDNR, there is a risk of their “actual integration” into Russia, since these regions are under the control of pro-Russian forces and “are moving further and further away from Ukraine, becoming closer to the Russian Federation.”

The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs expressed his concerns on this topic during his speech at a meeting of the European Parliament in Strasbourg. In addition to the words about the movement of the DPR and LPR towards Russia, he also called the possibility of a massive attack by Moscow on Ukraine not the most likely scenario.
