NATO Secretary General threatened Russia with a high price for the invasion of Ukraine

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said US President Joe Biden's comment about a "minor invasion" is not a green light for a potential Russian invasion of Ukraine. It is reported by Reuters.

“30 allies are united... 30 allies have a very clear message, which is that if Russia again invades Ukraine, again uses military aggressive means against Ukraine, there will be a high price. NATO allies will ensure that this happens, as we have done in the past and how we intend to act in the future,” Stoltenberg said, RIA Novosti reports.

Earlier, US President Joe Biden said that Washington would consider any crossing of the border of this country by Russian troops as an “invasion” into Ukraine, indicating that the American side would be ready to impose sanctions.

He warned that such a move would be followed by a "tough and coordinated economic response," which he discussed at length with US allies and also outlined to the Russian leader.

Before that, holding a press conference following the results of the first year of his presidency, Biden distinguished between the “offensive” and “invasion” of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, speaking about the possible consequences of such a step for Moscow. His words, according to the TV channel, "stunned" the Ukrainian officials. One said he was "shocked that Biden makes a distinction between an offensive and an invasion" and suggested that a "minor invasion" would not result in sanctions.
